The Right to Imagine

Can the right to imagination ever really be taken away?

Instead, my question is,
how many people really use this right fully?

For clarification purposes,
I differentiate this from the Right to Dream
by defining imagining as
dreaming, but with a dash of creativity.

I have imagined myself as a very wealthy man. Then, I fell into a deep sleep and dreamed about being a very wealthy man. I am not sure how creativity divides the two or links them together. I am positive that I have, I do, and I will continue to exercise mt right to imagine.

I believe that the majority of people do not use their creativity to its full extent. Unfortunately human beings have a tendancy to be lazy and follow the creativity of others. E.S.

The right to imagination can definitely be taken away. Hitler forced many German contemporary Artists to produce what he wanted; the rest he classified as degenerate Art. Needless to say, Art is derived mostly from the imagination and even though you cannot suppress ones thought directly, you can do it indirectly by destroying their work or. I try my best to use my imagination because whatever I perceived I can achieve. Gary Norris

oh my goodness, its like this right was made for me. i am always imagining impossible things.(:

i believe EVERYONE should have the right to imagine because its healthy and fun. i think we all need imagination to get us through the day because we will go crazy with the same routine everyday, so imagine all you want, because you have the right to.

I imagine myself traveling the world and visiting many sights. I have not dreamed about it as when I imagine I am fully awake. I think we should all keep our imagination open to new ideas and try to make them reality. It is always a great feeling to imagine ourselves doing great things.

To imagine something is very different than the act of dreaming something. To imagine something is to be awake and actually picture whatever your thoughts might be at the time. Everyone should have the right to imagination.

Imagining something is making it happen. The right to imaginations comes into play when you aspire to want to do something. Imagining it as if it were gonna happen makes the process worthwhile and your imagination should always be used to the fullest.

The right to imagination is a place of safety for human being to think about what they wish for. It facilitates our mind to create images we are unable to accomplish.

We all have an imagination. Imagining is a sense of dreaming just with that twist that your not controlling your thoughts. Having an imagination is like having two worlds in one. We are present in our environment but we can dose off any time to another perspective. We all have the right to imagination. Imagination is like a diary, you create something of your own that you keep to yourself. When you imagine your a different person. Imagining is believing.

Imagination is an involuntary action, but people seem to have shut down this capability. We all grow up coloring, and imagining forms in clouds, but as we get older this ability is pushed back and avoided. Imagination and creativity is the main source for new innovations, and can contribute to healing principles. As our reality and imagination mix, some might not consider that their imagination also shapes there reality. I think of imagination as a placebo; what you imagine you can turn into reality.

The power of imagination is incredible and can make wonders. I think is beautiful to say that we have the right to imagine our own world and create our own story.

Imagination is the door that lead us pass what we already know, is the first step to creativity and problem solving. It is definitely a powerful tool we should use more often. Like some say: “Think outside the box”.

Imagining is a form of relaxation for me. It can give you hope, entertainment, and can be very freeing. Imagination is defined as a form of a mental image (something not present), to form a notion without sufficient basis. Lets take for example Harry Potter, wow what an imagination J.K.Rowling has that has entertained all of us on top of the fact has made probably trillions.

We are imagination. We can see what our eyes cannot. We can hear what our ears cannot. Our right to imagination is the ability to take ourselves places we never thought we could go. The right to imagination expresses our inner-creativity.

The imagination of the human race is a fact in our
life, the way we are looking our future on this
Universe; it is very positive, and we should keep
this mood in a growing principle.

Many people lose their ability to imagine. If we use our imagination and creativity everything we imagine looks better.

I think everybody uses their inagination alot. Imagination is expressed in jokes, movies, music, fashion, etc. I wish that more people would tap into their imaginative side and express in any way what comes to mind.

Imagination is something that happens constantly in the brain, it is your brain creating different scenarios of things that could happen. When you imagine things you are creating something that isn’t there but yet brings you joy and happiness. We all have the right to imagination, and we should use it to the most of our abilities.

Everyone had an imagination that cannot be taken from them. An earlier post stated that Hitler forced artists to paint in a particular manner, but I would find it hard to believe those artists weren't imagining a better place where they were free to created what they wish.

A lot of times a great idea begins with a great imagination. Imagining things that aren't real is the first step to creating something that is.

Imagination has brought mankind through the dark ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity.
We should have this right undoubtedly.

The right to imagination is an innate right because it is not something that a person can easily control, though people can do things to cultivate it. Every mind is imaginative, but in different ways and areas such as science, art, engineering. The right to imagination is necessary for good problem solving, and as an outlet to situations that are otherwise limiting. Our achievements would be few if we could not imagine the possibilities.

I don't think that people really use their imagination so much. If everyone would use their imagination, people would see life in a different angle. Life would be a journey if we all used our imagination. EA

The Imagination of a person is always kept in the train of thought. We imagine allot as humans but we cannot always be imagining to function in society. P.L

I don't really think this is a right because it's something we always do. Even when we grow up, we all have fantasies and things we'd love to happen but probably won't. A 50-year old man can still imagine meeting Angelina Jolie, much like a 20-year old with the same overactive imagination. Age has nothing to do with it. --Rosa F.

Imagination is something that is born with us, and stays with us forever. It is the key to a successful life.

Imagination is what keep us alive. is what help us go trough life. Imagination is something that happens when we are awake, when we are in a conscious stage. Imagination is when we read a book to our children and they recreate in their minds the events of the story. Laura R.

Cant cannot control our imagination but unfortunately I think some people have minds which have been suppressed. Kids need to allow their minds to remain creative without the oppressiveness of growing up and adults.

Yeah, no many people use their imagination in this world. I think there should be a course in school about how to use and explote our personal imagination.

Imagination is something all of us have since we were little toddlers. When we were younger we imagined we were in our own little world with our own imagined friends. Now as adults when we have too much imagination we are looked as weird or some may say we are immature. Imagination is something we all have the right to do. We all can imagine anything we want and should be respected. We all have our way of thinking and imagining things we are all different.

In the novel A clockwork orange, the main character's thoughts are completely suppressed; whenever he thinks a government branded "bad though" he feels sick and doesn't stop feeling sick unless he stops thinking whatever he is thinking. His imagination can only work within their arbitrary boundaries. This is of course a fiction novel, but i'm sure in the future the technology will be developed.

I think everyone has imagined something whether good or bad at least once in their life. I believe that imagining things sometimes makes you realize and appreciate what you have, or can provide the motivation to one's self to do the things he/she would like to accomplish.

The right to imagination is something that we all should aspire to hold with dignity. All those famous philosophers, scientists and inventors that were at first made fun of and even criticized would have never been able to establish their theories and their creations if they would have shied away from their remarkable imaginations. A few of these amazing creative human beings are Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Charles Darwin, Louis Pasteur, Thales Aristotle, and Friedrich Nietzsche. To consider one example of the beauty and the right of imagination is Charles Darwin, and he once stated, “Correlating the evolution of the world with the evolution of beauty! And the marriage of functionalism and beauty. And then fitting mankind into the world as the copier and extensor of all that beauty and function.” What an extraordinary person to consider nature, philosophy and science as a unity. To consider that this man was criticized for his unique ideas and thought of as foolish is astonishing to us in this century. Now he is considered as the originator in the theory of evolution and mankind to name just one fact. What would of have happened if he shied away from his ideas?

I believe the right to imagination can not be taken away from anybody. They can repress the expression of it but not the action of imagining. GS

I strongly believe on the right of imagination and dreaming, I mean without dreams you cannot pursuit a goal, I believe that by dreaming and really wanting something or someone will eventually get you to it. I believe in the law of attraction and imagining something you really want is the best you can do because you will get to that desired goal eventually as long as you stay with a positive attitude toward it, so, why not believe on the right of imagination.

I think everybody has the right to imagination. Take me for instance, I imagine myself as a rich man in the future. It doesnt mean it will happen. It's always good to think about stuff like that.

Imagination is under estimated. It is the root of all idea. I believe the power of imagination is limitless and still unknown. Only a few artist in the world have scratched the surface of their imaginations. --KB

The right to imagination is very powerful. Without imagination we do not have reality. When we imagine certain things, we have the power to turn them into something much greater. Everyone should have the right to imagination. I cannot picture a life without it. Our mind is such a powerful tool that anything that we imagine, it can become true.

Everything starts in the mind. We live a life of imagination whether we believe it or not. All we can do is hope for what we have imagined, that while working towards achieving, we attain. In truth and in fact, we have no control over the next moment.

We all should have the right to imagination, but personally I do not use this right in its entirety. Imagination promotes creativity and therefore I think we should all imagine the impossible. Maybe one day this imagination could become real. -v.p

The right to imagine is something that cannot be taken away from us. Everyone was born with this right and people imagine things unconscionably all the time even if a person says that she/he has no imagination. I believe this right is necessary and can make our everyday reality a lot better.

Imagination unlike dreams which are wishes of the future, is a spark of creativity between mundane and extraordinary. Besides that this right can’t be taken away, it can be restrained but never taken. Imagination has a broad spectrum. You’re either born with or without it. Some have imagination, others struggle to either have or see it. At the end, not many fully use this right. – D.T

I strongly believe the right to imagination is being eliminated indirectly by television and video games. Although we have to choice to watch TV or read a book or take an adventure through the neighborhood, sometimes we do find ourselves sucked into a show and its unfortunate consequence turns out to be a waste of precious time and defeat of imagination. Sure some shows may have endings to episodes that have you thinking what will happen next, our imagination does work at this moment. But there are some programs that just have the same repetition, some games that become so addicting that the outside world becomes irrelevant. When I truly find myself deep in thought and imagining things I find myself outside in nature, or maybe thinking about someone I care about and some way I can make her smile, or reading a book that shows how an author can paint a picture. Imagination is a strong tool that I think everyone should have the right to preserve.

I'm trying to imagine the right to imagination being taken away from people...but then again, that's me using my imagination. Therefore, i believe that it's impossible to deprive humans of such a right, and even if it were possible, it would be a bad idea. Our imagination fuels us in our everyday lives without us even noticing.
