Do we really need to give reasons why all human life has value?
Needs no explanation?
Oh, but it does.
It does because us humans are a predator species.
And, as predators, some of us prey on those of our own kind.
Much more awareness of this aspect of our nature is needed.
The value of every single human life has to be upheld in order to defend it.
So in my former posting of The Right to Life for Humans.... part 1,
I turned to sacred scripture for declarations of human life having value.
But these don't seem to be enough.
They don't satisfy, and thus, they have not always worked.
If, ironically, we can list the benefits of the
Right to Life for Animals and Right to Life for Plants
so easily, why can't we list the benefits of humans on the planet?
We multiply like gremlins and we create war and destruction
for ourselves and other species.
A human created this photo. |
So, tell me the benefits of humans on Earth,
readers and commenters...
Help me uphold the Right to Life for Humans, as I declare it.

The Bible tells us that man was created to have a relationship with God and to be the keeper of the garden where he was placed. Man was God’s most precious creation made in his own image. Destroying man is sending God a message that his creation is worthless and is just like a slap on the face. Every life is unique, priceless and cannot be duplicated. No two people are alike even if they are physically similar looking because their personally distinctively sets them apart. By: L.J.B.R.
I argue for the right to life for humans from a basis of history. No other being is as interested in or as capable of discovering and recording the history of our planet.

The right to life for humans is so hard to explain because of our usual destructive nature. We are not the best species on the planet, as we believe to be, but we are here for a reason. We are at the top of the food chain. We have a higher sense of reasoning than others, but we do not seem to see how we hurt everyone around us. We may make a ton of mistakes, but regardless, our life is just as precious as any other.

The right to human life is in fact the reason in the first place why any right exists or anything built in this world exists. We are like the gardeners of the entire planet, we consume the resources from the world to keep it from dieing or rotting away. We are the sole life of the world and the ones who provide food shelter and oxygen for animals and plants all around us. Human life has many meanings in this world and no one really knows how we were born into this world, but for sure we bring nothing but happiness to everything around us, sure there is war, killing, destruction, and so much more that we do with our faults but in the good things we have countless. -J.J.V.
The right to life for humans is almost always forgotten because the world has turned so ugly. Nowadays, one can see on the news women getting away with the murder of their own children and modern day racism. We need to do more than just hate; we need to love. Hate is easy, but love isn't and that's one goal we all need to get together to try to accomplish. We are more than this; I just know it. Etel
Even though we are a predator specie, we are also the only specie that is capable of changing our ways for the better of the planet. Yes, we cause war and destruction but we also have studies and projects for making this a better place to live in for us and the animal/plant species.

Etel's comment completely opened my eyes. On television you see all these commercials promoting adoption of animals who have been abused, beaten, or neglected. While there are criminal trials where a parent has murdered their handicapped child and the defense makes them look like a victim for having to deal with a child with "special needs." I declare the right to life for humans!
The right to life for humans is simple. This is our plant. We are the smartest species, therefore it is ours to destroy or make better.
J.M.
Humans are the creators and destroyers of life itself, is in our nature. We extinguish each other only for our own existence and benefits not only do we kill each other but every other species around us. We create progress in the land but at what cost? is it worth it to pay such a high price? we are necessary but so is every other animal and plants and if we would stop thinking like we are the best thing out here maybe we would value ourselves and our surroundings more.
Carlos G.
Humans are self absorbed with their own problems or problems they take as their own. We are extremists and also incapable of making decisions without changing our minds. Social norms and ethics steer our gravitational pull towards how we live and what we do. As indiviuals we either create or destroy, feel bad about destroying or regret creating.
Monica C.
I agree with Carlos G., we need to stop and look around for a second and see that we're not the best things out here. There are so many reasons why humans shouldn't have the right to live, we don't contribute to anything almost at all. Yes we make art, invent things, and build impressive structures, but so do many plants and animals that we share the earth with. SJB
Every single human deserves to have a value in life. God is the creator of our specie and we have to take care of each other and defend our rights. If humans do not exist, then the Earth will be imcomplete. For instance, we need the right to life to continue with our development to avoid the disappearence of this valuable creation that are known as humans.

I believe in the right to Human Life to a certain degree. We must take into consideration the concept of carrying capacity to which a species reaches its maximum population size that its environment can sustain indefinitely. Our population is growing at exponential numbers. What happens when we reach this maximum capacity?

I believe in the right to human life too. I care about other people and other species and we should share the planet, take care of it and by taking care of the only planet that is our habitat is the reason why we human are here A.L.
Humans are the smartest species that exist in planet Earth, that alone should give us the right to life. Even though humans have created destruction, they have also created good things such as all the technological inventions that have saved millions throughout the centuries. There is some corrupt people in the world but not everyone is the same, so they shouldn't fall under the same stereotype.
Shani A.
I do agree with the right to human life because God created us with a purpose. All the bad or good things are allowed by God, bad things do not come from God but he allows them because he has a purpose for everything. He is the only one who has the right give and to take human life.
MV for the comment above
We must value the right to human life because we have only one life to live. It's about the journey we take and what we can give back to history. Their is life all around us and time never stops. Thus, we will continue to develop and need more of the right to life.
-G.R.
I believe that everyone should value life because without it we would be nothing. All the great moments that arise in your life who make you the person that you are today would never exist if God did not create us humans.
P.Picone
Terri Schiavo's life ended after a prolonged seven year delay in the courtroom, to disconnect her feeding tube, simply because she was diagnosed as being in a persistent vegetative state. Does one human being have the right to decide over the life of another? I agree with the above comment that only God can give it and take it away since He is the divine creator of such a race.
Life was meant and created to be lived to the fullest.

Humans assist in protecting the planet through the study and conservation of all life forms and ecological events. Continuing to understand our world will better help us coexist with it.
Chelsea M.
Humans throughout history have not respectful of the right to human life. In fact, people would kill more if they knew they could get away with it. We in live in a world where people will do anything to get their way. Unfortunately, I do not think this will ever change. It's part of the predator mindset of humans.
J.F.
The right to humans is beneficial because as a highly cognitive species we wield the right to imagination. Without imagination there is no modern world. There wouldn't be any TV's or internet or any form of natural or technological evolution that we take for granted. Either way the earth tends to be destroyed whether it be natural or mass destruction caused by human made weapons or pollution. Also, people die every day either naturally or accidentally or murdered that has never changed. Being that we have grown more civilized has not removed our primitive instincts to kill as a predatory species.
-D.E.C.
Perhaps, more awareness needs to be made on the value of human life, as we do with our environment in the recent years. It's not going to do our planet any good, if humans - are destroying one another. We must value ourselves and the life of others, because without us, Earth will not survive, yet alone have a future. F.G.
Many humans do not value their own lives. They eat whatever they want. They drink whatever they want. They do whatever they want until there are consequences, and then they point fingers not at themselves but at others. They are egotistical and hypocritical. They devour and rarely replenish. They wreak havoc wherever they go. I wish that I was only referring to a few members of our species, but sadly I am not. How am I to stand up for the right to human life, when many do not care about their own lives until it is too late?
Sheeda M.
Human beings have brought many benefits to the planet but at the same time we are destroying the planet. We are blessed because we have the capability to think, reason, we are smart creatures. We just have to use our power for good in order to preserve the planet we live in. Therefore I declare the right to life for humans. (LCL)
Humans were not the first to come to the planet, nor will they be the last. However, we have a misconception that we are the most important living thing on this Earth. I do not agree that we have the right to destroy it, we should treasure the gift that was given and better ourselves and the community.
CR
I honestly never thought about it the way of saying or listing the benefits that we as humans give to the planet and I cannot say that we do or give good things so the planet earth can get better however it is our responsibility to take care of it. We need to think this way more often so that we can coexist with other created species and do not harm them. O.V.
Human life is of great value, but what we think of life now was nothing compared to back in the roman days or even in the 1800s. Life was a game of sport to be tossed around and put to the challenge; even children would see life as nothing more than disposable fun. Now we value it but only cause of certain events that led to our way of thinking including our governments and so forth.
