The Right to Expression....Sense of Wonder... the Magical

Sometimes events or moments occur
that seem to be
unusually special, miraculous, and even wondrous.

When these happen,
we stop in fascination.
There is an appreciation of life.

I declare the Right to the Magical.

What magical moments do you remember or have?

For me the most magical moment was when I realized that I was in a wrong place in my life and somehow it came to me to make a change. Life is hard until you realize that it could be harder.

When it comes to the unexplained, i can only think of one moment in my life that magic seemed like it was the only explanation. At 16 years old, one week away from my high school graduation, on the May 5th, i survived an 145mile/hr crash. My seatbelt snapped and i was ejected within the inside of the car. When the accident was over, 500ft of public property was damaged, and i walked away without a scratch. (Mind you, when the car finally stopped flipping and came to a stop, my body was empaled by a large rod entering the back end of the car, and my left side of my face was covered in gasoline.) I walked away without a scratch and funny enough, glowing skin. Firefighters and paramedics were taking pictures with me and the wreck because it was unbelievable that i survived, and did not hit not one car. (i was passenger by the way.) I cant say it was magic or a higher power, but i meant to be here, and im thankful for that.

As we age, many lose the ability to recognize the magical. Overwhelmed with dreariness and drudgery and jaded by the passing of time, we come to lose sight of the wonders around us.

When I think of magical moments, my mind takes me back to childhood days. The term "ignorance is bliss" defines the feeling of when we had no fear and the world was an adventure.Laughing, playing, our imaginations just blurting out of our mouths. As we grow up, the magic is seen through a more realistic perspective. Then it is up to us to create the magic.

Losing the faith in magic, only makes our life a little more boring. Letting our imagination wonder and creating a world of fantasy, makes life a lot more entertaining and delightful. Everyone has the right to believe in magic and enjoy every magical moment they experience, without trying to find a further explanation for those moments and ruining the special side of it.

I don't necessarily believe in magic but instead in miracles. The only miracle that has happened in my life was when my mother almost passed away from a blood clot that was centimeters away from her heart. When she arrived at the hospital the doctors informed her that she shouldn't even be alive, had she fell asleep that night, she would have never woken up. I thank God for letting me keep my mother.

There a few magical miraculous moments in my life that I can say they have to be a miracle from God but at the same time I also have uneventful moments that have also made me stop and appreciated my life. LCL

I have to agree with Alli Brecht
I don't beleive in magic but miracles instead.

I also declare the right to the magical. When we are young, we believe everything is magical. As the years pass though, many lose faith. That magic still exists if only one believes. Without magical moments, life would be a bore.

Magical is when one has a love connection with someone that makes one feel like a queen or a king and that feeling transcend into a deeper feeling such as love, passion and caring. That movement feels very magical or like a dream of one’s fantasy. Other personal relationship can be magical with a best friend that totally fills one’s life with hope, love and understanding to the point that the connection seems magical between two best friends and Heaven sent to guide one live. There is nothing so amazing like experiencing a moment that is magical. About two years ago I began planning for my wedding and like many brides-to-be, the first thing I went shopping for was my wedding dress. I ended up falling in love with a dress that words could not describe how stunning it was. It was “the dress” that when I tried on I knew was it, not mention it made my mom, mother-in-law and me literally cry a river. The only issue with the dress was that it was way out of my budget. I had no other choice but to settle for the next best affordable dress. I was told that the dress I settled for would take about 8 to 12 weeks to arrive. That left me with exactly a month before the wedding. When the dress finally arrived, I had several alterations that had to be made. I was told that the alterations would take about two weeks, leaving me with two weeks before the wedding. When I went in for the final fitting, the seamstress cut the dress too short and there was no way to repair it. It would take another 8 to 12 weeks for another dress and the wedding was in 2 weeks. I panicked and you can only imagine how the “bridezilla” in me exploded. After 3 days of speaking to corporate, to the district manager and the store manager, they gave me an additional option. My options were that they would let me pick from two dresses that had just arrived that were my size. These were dresses that other brides had ordered but their weddings weren’t scheduled for almost another year. One of the dresses that they offered me at NO additional charge was the first dress that I fell in love with. It’s amazing how when things are meant to be they will happen through pain, suffering, and torture. After all the agony, stress and crying, I ended with my dream dress and that was magical, special, miraculous and wondrous to me. It’s a feeling that is indescribable.

I agree. The right to the magical is generally associated with young children, but as an adult it still makes me smile. I still want to fly. I still want to be invisible. In fact, I think it keeps the stress down because it makes me happy. As an adult we're pushed into religion which has a sense of the magical because some things cannot be factually supported.

I have had experiences in my life that at the moment I didn’t see them as magical but as I matured and time went on I viewed the experiences in a different light. Life passes by you so fast that you have to stop for a second and let yourself be fascinated by those special moments. Everyone should have the right to the magical.

Nature is the most magical thing I have come across. Which is interesting because it is constantly around me and you would think after a certain amount of time it would seize to amaze me. Yet, when I actually stop to pay attention to it, it's beauty leaves me speechless. - K.A.S

The things that seem to happen by coincidence are the most magical to me. Magic is the way a person chooses to perceive it.

I agree with N.Av that magic is the way someone chooses to perceive it. Magic is a word that children usually use to describe something they don't understand, but I think that even as adults we should be allowed to call something magical or see the magic in situations without being called childish.

Magic can be found everywhere. The most simple aspects of life create magic that we can only dream of. It happens when a baby develops from conception, when two hydrogens combine with oxygen to create the water we drink, and when you share a kiss with the one you love. Think about how simple yet complex those few things are. How magical they truly are.

I could appeal with my walk as a defense, innundated with divine manifestations. As oppose to some sort of mystical or magical happenings outside of the marvelous truth that is God. I speculate the organism that he has so masterfully sewn and conglamorated togehter with a passion and intention to express His magnificant majesty.

Something magical that happened to me was back when i was a child and my first time going to Disney. For some reason I make a connection between magical and Disney because it makes dreams come true. Such as the princess stories and fairytales. It's a chance to wander off in your imagination.

We live in a world full of magic. I feel as if everything that exists and happens has been touched by magic in some way. All living species are so beautiful and perfect, our bodies function in such a synchronized and detailed way that keep us alive. I can't just see one event as magical when I feel that life itself is full of magic. D.C.R.

Magic is conceived in the mind of a child, while miracles in the heart of the adult.

Magical for me are many things that happen in my life like witnessing my children growing their own children; every moment that I have never imagined seeing is magical for me. A.L.

The right of the "Magical moment" is amazing. Like that feeling you get during Christmas when you where a little kid unwrapping gifts, or that first car you own. Moments that will live with you forever, are just Magical.

The right of the magical should be given. It happens to all of us but some people are blind to it. I, however, think the magical experiences we go through are just another part of life. I think we all go through them, but some people are just more thankful than others. Robert S.

A magical moment if for me is every time i go to Disney World! I am such a Disney fan. I feel as if i turn into a little 5 year old princess every time i arrive there. Everything seems so magical, perfect, happy, and so realistic. Magic surrounds you all over the Disney’s theme park.

I think the right to magical can be plenty of things, it could be that you believe in something that cannot be seen. There are religions out there that can give that magical that people seek. I myself have never experienced a magical situation but i know it exists and that once i find it, it will be worth the wait. G.A.

I've always thought of "Magical" as the atheist's word for "Miracle". To what some might consider magic, others might consider it an act of God.

As we get older the magic is taken out of our lives because as adults we have the need to explain everything. Children on the other hand are open minded and have the ability to have magical moments.

The right to magical is something unique. Those "magical" moments for me are the ones in which everything just get along together. For me, when you go down on the highway and the sunlight is exactly perfect, the music being played in your car match the moment, the wind is perfect and you feel it. Those moments for me are full of magic and are the ones that make us appreciate life. Everyday for me is full of magic, and I enjoy it.

Being a religious person, I don’t really believe in magic. I believe in a higher power capable of granting us what we ask for, if it’s what’s best for us. I have always been told that God never says no, he may say not now or I have something better for you.

Magical moments are hard to come by as an adult. Like most have said above, we'd rather call it a miracle more than magical. I remember as a child everything that fascinated me was magical in a way, it could've been a dragon fly passing by and I was amazed. Good times. C.M.A.

Magical is a childish term in my mind. It was magic when Santa Clause fit down the chimney and magic when you first see Tinker Bell fly. As an adult, I find things hard to believe as magical. I feel that magic is not real. There are things that are worthy to be awesome and others that "blow your mind" but to consider them magical is somewhat naive.

Magical moments do not happen often. If they did, then they will just be normal moments. In my opinion magical has a connection with the unexplained. A good example of this is someone surviving a horrific car accident or someone who overcame a deadly disease. I haven’t had a magical experience in my life. But when it does happen I will know and be very grateful.

Magical moments don't happen often in an adult's life, that is, until last week when out of the blue I had an epiphany for life itself. I had a sudden realization for everything that was around me and was truly fascinated on how everything seemed to be. I was engulfed with the mysteries of earth and just stood there in appreciation for life, it was definitely magical. It truly was an unusually special feeling. I agree with the right to magical.-D.E.C.

I agree to the right to the magical because It belongs to everyone and is an inspiring or heartwarming or exciting thing to have. The most magical moment for me was when I stood up for myself and gained friends in doing so.

Seriously who could ever argue against such a right, this is specifically what makes our minds leave our souls for unimaginable amounts of time. It is what creates dreams, love, beauty, wonder, imagination and so much more. It is the equilibrium of life, it is the boundary of life and death it is what inspires so many people. The right to magical shall never be tempered with it shall forever remain as a mysterious ominous feeling. -J.J.V.

Magical moments in our lives help us to see the beauty in life. Sometimes magical moments are small things like seeing a vibrant rainbow after a long storm, watching a breath taking sunrise, seeing your trees produce mangoes, or even being lucky enough to see a shooting star streak across the night sky. I agree with this right. SJB

In my opinion every single day there is something special or miraculous happening in our lives. For example just by waking up, breathing, nature, and the way that our human organism works is just amazingly “magical”. O.V.

Magic signifies the things that we think are not possible to happen actually happen. My grandmother, for example, with all the illnesses she has, she has overcome obstacles in her life and has gotten better from sicknesses that doctors didn’t thinks she would survive. That to me is magical. -ABL
